Nestled within the traditional Parque Obrero of Cali stands the monument to Piper Pimienta Diaz, a statue sculpted by maestro Diego Pombo honoring the singer and composer Edulfamid Molina Diaz.
Piper Pimienta Diaz was a renowned Salsa singer celebrated for his rendition of “Las Caleñas son como Las Flores” and revered as a representative of Cali’s popular culture. This gleaming monument pays homage to one of the legendary showmen of Cali salsa, who performed with Fruko y sus Tesos and the Latin Brothers.
